Urban Outing

We went on a semi-random cruise today. The initial plan was to stop by Top Speed over in Addison to check out some lug nuts for my soon-to-arrive wheels. Unfortunately they were closed so we just continued to drive up north.

We came across a couple of nice neighborhoods and apartments that could be potential future homes. We could get a nice place sometime soon but that would leave little money for us to spend in other areas of our lives, especially modding, right?

Our drive brought us to an upscale shopping center where we stopped at Urban Outfitters to pick up the shirts you see above.

I didn’t get what I set out to pick up but we ended up with some nice stuff and had an overall good day. I’ll be stopping by Top Speed on Monday.

The Gift of Time

My anniversary gift to him.

We have celebrated several special events, holidays, and anniversaries in our past three years together. On each of these occasions we’ve found that it’s incredibly hard to find the “perfect gift” for one another. No one knows and understands me as well as he does, and vice versa. Why is it so hard to just find something for him if I know exactly what he likes?

So we end up getting gifts for each other – sometimes the gift is perfect and sometimes the gift doesn’t fit – but no matter what, it’s always thoughtful. I’ve found that it really is the thought that counts. The time spent thinking about me, the time that he spent shopping for me, the time we spend celebrating together. The amount of money spent and material gifts never matter when compared to the amount of time spent just for me.

“Time is the most precious gift that one can give.”
